Better Than a Mortgage
If you've dreamed of being debt free, this is the single best way to accomplish that. Of course, you can get a traditional 30-year fixed interest rate mortgage, and make additional monthly or annual payments on top of the regular monthly payment, and if you make enough of those additional payments, you can get your mortgage paid off years early. Your monthly payment never changes, and the additional payments you make reduce principal at the tail end of the amortization period.
But if you finance your home with a new program that is now being launched around the country that is called by various names like, "The All-In-One Program" or "The Wealth Builder Program", you are on an entirely different amortization schedule, one that favors borrowers so that they can pay off their total debt (called a "Line of Credit" rather than a mortgage) much earlier. If a borrower has discretionary income they can add to their account, they can be debt free far sooner than a 30-year fixed rate mortgage, and pay far less in interest.
